A tradition of specialist growing
Italy has a long tradition of ornamental horticulture. Its specialist nurseries grow an exceptional range of trees, shrubs and architectural plants, often nurturing them for years before they are ready for sale.
Beauty, maturity and character
Italian-grown plants are particularly appealing when you want a garden to look established rather than newly planted. Carefully trained forms, mature specimens and strong evergreen structure can create an immediate focal point and give a landscape a sense of permanence.
Selected for the UK climate
Brookedge Nursery does not simply import plants because they are Italian. Our emphasis is on hardy trees and shrubs that are suitable for growing in Britain when planted in the right position and given appropriate care. We select with UK conditions in mind, including winter temperatures, rainfall, drainage and exposure.
Mediterranean influence without a Mediterranean-only garden
An Italian-inspired garden does not have to be filled with tender plants. Structure, symmetry, evergreen foliage, clipped forms and carefully chosen specimen trees can introduce Italian character while still creating a practical garden for the North West of England.
Direct sourcing
Importing directly also allows us to build a collection with greater variety and individuality. Every delivery is selected to offer something different: plants that can provide height, screening, colour, scent, evergreen structure or a striking focal point.
